I've been working with the team at AW Numeris Buchhaltung for over three years. They are not only the best bookkeepers I've found in Germany, they're much more than that. AWN is run by people who are themselves experienced and commercially active - they actively operate companies, employ workers, have acquired businesses, own real estate, and can guide and advise you on how to avoid mistakes and maximize opportunities. As a business owner or freelancer you can learn so much from them and you feel very safe in their hands. They are proactive, solution-oriented and extremely helpful, informed by long experience as operators themselves - not just bureaucratic paper-pushers. They are a diverse team, including staff who have previously worked at tax firms and have excellent relationships with the Finanzamt. Before working with AWN, I worked with two tax advisors for 4 years. The first made a mess of my bookkeeping and didn't have a clue about my ecommerce business, leading to expensive and stressful fines and penalties. The second tax advisor nickel-and-dimed me for every little thing and billed my small company over €20k per year for mediocre service. Every invoice was a shocking surprise. As a small business or freelancer in Germany, you do not need a tax advisor! Tax advisors cost insane amounts of money (minimum €120/hr in 2025!) and extremely few have relevant operational/business experience to advise you. I work with AWN at every level of my business - bookkeeping, VAT reporting, yearly tax returns, transaction advisory, employment/labor advisory, holding company structuring and loans/credit because of their long experience and exceptional integrity.
